  •  Induce high frequency sound waves into tube, defects will echo back the signals to be detectable.

  • Can be used on a wide variety of carbon steel materials as well as some SS. Suitable for tubes 2”OD & 1/4” wall thickness, and larger.

  • Great for ID & OD sensitivity. Can inspect flash in material.

  • Excellent repeatability and calibration retention.

  • Liquid couplant needed, surface temperature must be below boiling temperatures.

  • Hard to detect small defects at high speed

  • High frequency acoustic waves are sent from the transducer into the material through a couplant (mill/coolant/water).

  • Any reflection of the wave back to the transducer from the discontinuity creates an electrical signal signifying that there is a defect/anomaly present.

  • Min OD 2” (50mm) and up

  • Min Wall Thickness 0.125” (3mm) and larger

  • Max tested speed up to 300ft/min (91m/min)
